Vinta is an IT company with presence both in the US (Vinta LLC) and, it's major resource hub, the Philippines (Vinta Solutions Inc.).  The company has a three year history of creating technology based ventures that promote the expertise and innovation of Filipino people - traditionally developing collaborative systems supporting outsourcing operations.


Opportunity

Vinta is now moving into a new phase - developing IT services and utilities for direct businesses consumption. Specifically, the company is targeting mobile based solutions, combining the latest leader in rich mobile media device, the iPhone, and enterprise grade back-end web services.

We are in search of the initial group of talented individuals who would comprise a development team. This team will create the initial mobile application client, together with the server components necessary to support, and integrate into enterprise solutions. Architecture and design are led by US based colleagues.

Team members should have lots of initiative and are flexible to work on activities outside their defined roles to get the job done.  There will be a lot of learning and quality hours demanded of this first pilot project. Work schedule is flexible and output driven - candidates are expected 20 hours a week, and work will be quantified and graded for quality.  Compensation is inclusive of basic pay and incentive for quantified quality-graded work hours.


Job Opening

The core team is made up of 4 unique individuals with distributed talents across essential roles of a Mac OS and web application development. The following positions are open:

Technical Lead 

Personal Traits:

• Driven -This person drives the initiative with a very 'hands-on' approach.  Moving the project forward at every step of the way, making sure everyone contributes and works hard towards a shared goal.
• Time Manager - This person manages time lines and commitments for parallel activities.  Multi-tasking is essential, with the ability to drive deadlines for many activities.
• Leader - This person takes the lead, and motivates people within the team through difficult and pressured commitments.  This person should know when to be soft and when to be hard on people balancing personal and professional relations to get the project.

• Experienced with project management tools - status reporting, and time management application and tools to communicate with both management and development teams.
  
• In depth understanding of web mobile application development technology - infrastructure (Internet, TCPIP, etc), software (Web Server, application server, mobile devices), and applications environments (Java and C++ programming).
• Practiced with design standards - UML standards on creation of use cases, sequence diagrams, class diagrams, etc.

iPhone Client Application Developer 

Personal Traits:

• Passion for technology - This person needs to learn and practice technology at a very demanding pace.  Aside from basic technical skills this person should be able to comprehend and desire learning other technicals skills needed to get job done.
• Detail oriented - This person needs to be able to code, test, and document applications to the detail that ensures quality of the product.
  

• Proficient with C/C++ - preferably with Objective-C XCode working experience.
• Able to work with graphics packages to create applications adhering to Apple User Interface guidelines.
• Experience with secure network communication programming.

Web Service Application Developer 

Personal Traits:

• Passion for technology - This person needs to learn and practice technology at a very demanding pace.  Aside from basic technical skills this person should be able to comprehend and desire learning other technicals skills needed to get job done.
• Detail oriented - This person needs to be able to code, test, and document applications to the detail that ensures quality of the product.
  

• Proficient with Java/SQL
• Practiced in controller, model, and web service programming in Java.
• Practiced in creating, manipulating, and managing MySQL databases.
• Experience with secure network communication programming.

Test Lead

 Personal Traits:

• Technically Empathic - This person needs to see technology from different perspectives, noticing details that would improve users experience and performance.
• Patient but Persistence - This person needs to both communicate and drive inconsistencies in design and development to pass strict internal standards.
  
• People person - This person needs to have the human skills  to handle sensitive interactions with very technical colleagues are essential.

• Practiced with test suites - JUnit as it is used within the Eclipse IDE.
• Proficient with UML standards relating to test case creation and use case definition.
